Duration of Event:  4 – 5 hours, briefing 8.45am, walk starts 9am


Starting from and ending at the Croquet Club in the beautiful Esplanade in Palmerston North City, this walk travels along and over the Manawatu River, through native bush in Bledisloe Park and up several steep climbs.  This walk will take you through a number of small reserves, and you’ll experience great views across the city, out to the Tararua and Ruahine Ranges,  to Massey University and our beautiful surrounding countryside.  With many stopping points across a variety of walkways, you will have time to learn more about the area and enjoy the scenery, making this a very rewarding walk by the guides of the Manawatu Striders Club.

Please bring adequate food and drink, and ensure you are wearing appropriate footwear.

The meeting point is the Croquet Club beside the carpark in the Esplanade is found by accessing the first turn to the right once you enter the Esplanade by Manawaroa Street off Fitzherbert Avenue.

After this walk, there is the opportunity to enjoy a rest, some conversation and a refreshment at the Esplanade Café.

This is a very suitable walk to be undertaken along with another longer or more challenging walk on the Sunday.
