See the lights and the River by night  from He Ara Kotahi to Tini whetu nui ke te rangi  (Like the myriad of stars in the sky  Ko Rangitaa ne nui ki Whenua

So are the people of great Rangitaane upon the land)

This is an evening to night walk along the Manawatu River upstream from the new walking/cycling bridge to the new kowhaiwhai patterns opposite ANZAC Park and the Te Arapiki a Tane. (The Steps of Tane)

Named after an old proverb of the Rangitane the kowhaiwhai contains small stones which absorb the light during the day and then glow at night.  By the time we return to the start point the night lights on the bridge should all be doing their best to provide a great visual experience.

Subject to the weather the walk will use both banks of the river crossing downstream on the Fitzherbert Bridge.
